Learn Narrative Scripting Language Ink & Make a game!

Ink Jam is back for 2024 and this year Sabby is hosting an in person venue!

Ink Jam is a game jam for making games using the ink narrative scripting language created by inkle and used in their games including 80 Days, Heaven's Vault and A Highland Song.

Ink has been used in local games including Ghost Pattern's Wayward Strand and Cecile Richard's Gutless and international games like Sable and Goodbye Volcano High.

Join us at Sabby and make a game using Ink.

If you've never used ink before, alongside the jam we are running an optional workshop to introduce attendees to ink. If you already know ink you can jump right into working on your game but for those new to ink the workshop will help you get started!

Sabby is located at:
60 Leicester St, Carlton.

You can get to Sabby via:

Bike:
The 60L Green Building has internal bike racks and end of trip facilities
Tram:
  • 19, 57 & 59, Stop 7 - Queen Victoria Market (5 mins walk)
  • 1, 3, 5, 6, 16, 64, 67 & 72, Stop 4 - Queensberry St (5 mins walk)
Train:
  • State Library Station (8 min walk)
  • Melbourne Central Station (11 min walk or 7 min tram)
  • Parkville Station (11 min walk or 8 min tram)
Bus:
  • 200 & 207, Queensberry St & Lygon St Stop (9 mins walk)
  • 605, A'Beckett St & Queen St Stop (12 mins walk)
Car:
There is limited parking outside on Leicester street and more on the surrounding Carlton Streets, we recommend walking, riding or taking public transit instead.
