Digital Empowerment Workshops!
Come hang out at beginner-friendly workshops for Trans and Gender Diverse Internet users that show how we build the Web together :)
This first session is themed Avatar and Identity.
It's about your right to choose what you share, with whom, and when. What's the best way to keep up with people, news, and memes if you don't want Palantir to have your phone number?
Free snacks provided :)
And yes you can bring an emotional support ally.

About this series
Transgender Victoria's Affirming Ideas Fund is supporting this project to provide free computer skills workshops to trans folk wanting to feel safe and respected online. Each session explores a different aspect of the open web:
- Avatar and identity (decentralised socials, data portability, deleting deadnames)
- Machinima and dreaming new worlds together (LAN party to practice solidarity, communication and collaboration)
- Community connectivity (alternative networks, mesh, privacy and security)
- Improvised infrastructure (GeoCities, webrings, RSS, email newsletters)
- Creative autonomy and not-for-profit platforms (Ao3)
- Open sourcerers (getting started with open-source software + is Linux difficult to use?)
